About

Van Kappell is more than just a collection of beautiful objects—it’s a bridge between the tangible and the spiritual, a quiet conversation between the past and present. Born from personal loss and the desire to reclaim light, this brand grew out of the darkest moments, when the need for connection to something deeper became undeniable.

In March 2018, I lost my little sister, and everything in me shifted. What followed was a journey into the depths of grief, where I learned to embrace the fullness of my emotions. It was in that space—where light seemed so far away—that I began to collect not just objects, but meaning. I found myself drawn to pieces that symbolized both the fragility and the resilience of life—candelabras to bring warmth and vases to honor the lives that pass on but never leave us.

Van Kappell was born from these moments, from the realization that we all need rituals to ground us, to honor the beauty in the everyday, and to create space for the emotions we carry. Our curated pieces are not just items to decorate a home—they are artifacts of intention, designed to hold space for reflection, for gratitude, and for those tender moments when we need to reconnect with ourselves and the world around us.

This brand is for those who walk between worlds—the world of the seen and the unseen, the ordinary and the sacred. It’s for anyone who feels deeply, who seeks meaning in the small, quiet rituals that bring us back to ourselves. Each object in our collection is chosen with care, to invite you into your own personal practice of grounding and healing, wherever you are in your journey.

Van Kappell is for those who seek light, even in the darkest of times. It’s a space to rediscover the beauty of stillness, to honor the cycles of life, and to create a sense of home within the self.

Thank you for stepping into this space with me. Here, you’re not just a guest—you’re part of the story.
